Once again we are here to present our yearly event commemorating Giancarlo Turri: a fun-run across the olive groves and vineyards on the hills surrounding Lake Garda. On Saturday, September 16th, in Cavaion Veronese, just outside Verona, we will be holding the fourth edition of “4 passi tra gli olivi e le vigne del Garda” (lit: A stroll among the olive groves and vineyards of Garda), a sports event organized in collaboration with Fiasp and Verona Garda Bike, with the patronage of the Town of Cavaion Veronese.
An event dedicated to the memory of Giancarlo Turri, founder of the family business, who, as well as being a pioneering entrepreneur –he was one of the first persons to introduce continuous-cycle machinery into his olive mill – was also an excellent sportsman. A strong spirit, who believed in a healthy lifestyle, made of physical activity and good eating habits. This Memorial is dedicated to all the people who, like him, love jogging in our beautiful countryside.
The competitors taking part in the Memorial can choose between two routes, 6 and 12 kilometres long, respectively. The shorter one is on fairly level ground, and spans across vineyards, fields and olive groves. The longer one is more challenging: the route ascends up to the peak of Mount San Michele, from where one can admire a breathtaking view on the ancient town of Cavaion. Both tracks will lead the participants to the discovery of the landscape and culture inland of Lake Garda, as they cross the historical centre, farms and olive plantations of Cavaion Veronese. Both races start at 4.30 p.m. from the Turri olive mill. The first 1000 people to enrol will receive a gift box containing a bottle of Turri 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, a bottle of Lamberti wine and a souvenir placemat.
