Thanks to our Selezione Villa oil, this year we were awarded first prize in the delicately fruity category of the 2017 ORO DEL GARDA Contest! We are very pleased with this result, especially considering that we also took third place with our Garda DOP Orientale. This prestigious contest, now at its fifth edition, held its award ceremony last Thursday, the 11th of May, at the Palazzo Ex Monte di Pietà in San Felice del Benaco (Brescia).
The 2016 Garda PDO extra virgin olive oils were examined by a panel of professional tasters from Laboratorio Dogane in Verona.
Special guests of the award ceremony were Mr Mauro Parolini, regional councillor for Economic Development in Lombardy, and Ms Elena Viani, who, together with Mr Carlos McAdden, presented East Lombardy. This project is aimed at promoting the gastronomy of eastern Lombardy, of which our Garda PDO oil is an ambassador.
